Chattahoochee River Club has numerous walking/hiking trails, accessed through several entry points within the community, that allow residents to experience the natural beauty of the area and its close proximity to the Chattahoochee River.
The southern entrance to Bowmans Island, one of 15 units of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA), is located off Trout Place Road just before the Buford Trout Hatchery.
Bowmans Island unit encompasses 812 acres. The park's name reflects the small island that separates the Chattahoochee River into two sections, east and west. Currently all trails and other recreational amenities are located on the west (Forsyth County) side of the river.
